Mr. John Melkonian began his teaching career in 1989 in Aurora Public Schools where he served as a 5th and 4th grade teacher at Montview and Arkansas Elementary schools. After nine years in the classroom, Mr. Melkonian transitioned to the role of School Principal, serving as the Assistant Principal of Trailblazer Elementary before becoming the principal of Larkspur Elementary (DCSD) in 2003. In 2007 he was appointed as principal of Eldorado Elementary (DCSD) where he served for 5 years.
Mr. Melkonian finished his principal career serving for 7 years as principal of Franklin Elementary in Littleton Public Schools. Mr. Melkonian graduated from Biola University with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing and he has advanced degrees from Cal State Stanislaus and the University of Phoenix. John is married to Debbie (32 years) and has three grown children and two grandchildren. He is excited for the opportunity to serve and support the ACES community.
